Air Canada Announces Major Network Expansion for Summer 2025

Air Canada has unveiled a comprehensive expansion of its flight operations for the summer of 2025, introducing new seasonal routes and enhancing service frequencies to meet growing passenger demand. This strategic enhancement aims to bolster connectivity between Canada and key global destinations across Europe, the United States, and Asia.

New and Restored Routes

For the first time, Air Canada will offer direct flights from Montreal to Naples, Italy, and Porto, Portugal, enriching its European network. Additionally, the airline is set to re-establish flights from Toronto to Prague, Czechia, and from Ottawa to London, UK, reinstating popular routes that cater to both business and leisure travelers.

The airline also plans to introduce year-round service four times a week from Toronto to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, thus enhancing its connectivity to the Caribbean.

Increased Flight Frequencies

Rome and Athens will see increased service with up to three daily flights from various Canadian cities, addressing the high demand during the peak travel season. Flights between Toronto and Stockholm are also set to resume with up to four weekly frequencies.

In a significant upgrade, Air Canada will deploy the Boeing 777-300ER on routes from both Toronto and Montreal to Paris, offering up to 1,300 daily seats. This aircraft features enhanced passenger comfort and a higher capacity, making it ideal for one of the busiest routes in Air Canada’s network.

Strengthening North American Operations

The airline will introduce new routes to Nashville from Vancouver and to Cincinnati from Montreal, complementing the existing service from Toronto to Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Additionally, service to Jacksonville from Toronto will be resumed, maintaining the sole non-stop connection between these cities.

Throughout summer 2025, Air Canada will increase its frequency of flights from Toronto to several U.S. cities including Indianapolis, Tampa, Boston, and Dallas-Fort Worth. From Montreal, additional daily flights will be added to Nashville, Denver, and Raleigh-Durham, with services to Tampa increasing to daily flights.

Enhancing Transpacific Connectivity

Summer 2025 will also see Air Canada boost its service to the Asian market. The airline will resume its seasonal service to Seoul from Montreal and to Osaka from Toronto using the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner. These routes, initiated in summer 2024, have been well-received, prompting the addition of more flights to accommodate the growing interest in these vibrant Asian cities.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada, emphasized the airline’s commitment to enhancing global connectivity. “With our strategic expansions and increased flight frequencies, Air Canada continues to offer unparalleled service and connectivity, facilitating travel and commerce between Canada and the world,” Galardo concluded.
