Avelo Airlines Announces Expansion on the East Coast
Avelo Airlines, a prominent American low-cost carrier based in Houston, has recently unveiled its plan to extend its network by introducing three new routes along the East Coast. This strategic expansion is scheduled to commence in May 2024, leveraging the operational capabilities of Boeing’s Next-Generation 737 aircraft to ensure a comfortable and reliable service for passengers.
Commencing on May 10, 2024, Avelo will begin operations from Albany International Airport (ALB) to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), offering flights twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. This route marks a significant milestone as it connects Albany to the bustling city of Raleigh-Durham, fostering greater accessibility and convenience for travelers.
In addition, Avelo Airlines is set to launch a service between Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) and Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) on the same day, with flights also scheduled for Mondays and Fridays. This route not only caters to the demand for direct flights between these regions but also emphasizes Avelo’s commitment to enhancing its network’s reach.
Moreover, starting May 9, 2024, Avelo will introduce a direct connection from Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), further expanding its portfolio of destinations and providing passengers with more travel options.
Avelo’s Growth and Commitment to Excellence
Andrew Levy, Chairman and CEO of Avelo Airlines, expressed enthusiasm for the new routes, highlighting the significance of these additions in commemorating one year of base operations at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). Levy’s statement reflects Avelo’s dedication to offering convenient and cost-effective travel solutions, ensuring that customers can enjoy seamless journeys whether for leisure or business purposes.
Since establishing its fifth base at RDU, Avelo Airlines has notably scaled its operations by adding a second aircraft and growing its team to approximately 90 RDU-based crew members. This expansion not only underscores the airline’s commitment to creating employment opportunities but also its focus on delivering exceptional service to over 230,000 customers through more than 1,700 flights since its inception at RDU.
To further accommodate the needs of its passengers, Avelo Airlines has extended its booking schedule through Labor Day, allowing travelers to plan their summer vacations and long-weekend getaways with ease. This strategic move is indicative of Avelo’s forward-thinking approach and its dedication to enhancing customer satisfaction.
