A Harmonious Partnership
easyJet, the renowned UK-based low-cost airline, has proudly announced its establishment as the ‘Official Airline Partner’ of the Eurovision Song Contest. This strategic multi-year partnership, unveiled on February 20, 2024, marks a significant commitment by easyJet to support one of the world’s most beloved music events until 2026. This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between music enthusiasts and the Eurovision Song Contest, providing a seamless travel experience for thousands of fans heading to Malmö, Sweden, in May 2024.
Eurovision Song Contest: A Global Music Phenomenon
The Eurovision Song Contest, an annual international music competition, has been a staple of global entertainment since its inception in 1956. With the exception of 2020, the contest has been held every year, bringing together artists from 37 countries to compete for the coveted title of Eurovision champion. The 2024 contest, set to take place in Malmö, Sweden, is expected to draw a global television audience of approximately 170 million people. Organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the event celebrates diversity, creativity, and unity through music, making it the perfect platform for easyJet to demonstrate its commitment to connecting people across Europe.
Connecting Cultures, Uniting People
Under this pioneering sponsorship agreement, easyJet will facilitate travel for thousands of visitors from across Europe to Copenhagen Airport (CPH) in Denmark. Despite being located across the border from the Swedish host city, Copenhagen Airport offers visitors direct access to Malmö, ensuring a smooth travel experience for those attending the live semi-finals and final events on May 7, May 9, and May 11, 2024. Gabriella Neudecker, Marketing Director of easyJet, expressed the airline’s pride in partnering with the Eurovision Song Contest, emphasizing the shared values of bringing people, countries, and communities together. Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, also welcomed easyJet as the Official Airline Partner, highlighting the shared passion for connecting cultures and the synergy between music and travel.
easyJet’s European Network: easyJet currently operates flights to Copenhagen from 14 of its bases across Europe, including major cities such as London-Gatwick, Manchester, Paris, and Milan. The airline’s extensive network covers over 1,000 routes to more than 150 airports across 35 countries, demonstrating its capability to connect over 300 million Europeans to their destinations with ease. This strategic partnership with the Eurovision Song Contest further reinforces easyJet’s commitment to making travel accessible and enjoyable for music fans across the continent.
