Emirates’ Special Celebrations for Lunar New Year 2025

As the world welcomes the Year of the Snake, Emirates is set to enhance its onboard and lounge experiences to mark the Lunar New Year. The celebrations will span from January 28 to February 3, 2025, featuring exclusive culinary offerings and festive activities across select routes and airport lounges. This initiative reflects Emirates’ commitment to cultural diversity and passenger satisfaction.

Exclusive Onboard Offerings

Passengers traveling with Emirates during the Lunar New Year will enjoy specially crafted meals and desserts tailored to elevate their in-flight experience. First, Business, and Premium Economy passengers on flights between Dubai and major Asian cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and others, will be treated to a delectable Lychee, Rose, and Raspberry Mousse Cake. This dessert combines lychee and raspberry flavors with a subtle hint of rose, layered over a pâte sablée base and adorned with white chocolate.

In the Economy class, travelers will savor a Taro Coconut Sago dessert. This dish blends the creamy texture of taro and coconut with sago pearls, complemented by a mix of sweetened fruits and red beans, offering a delightful taste of Asian cuisine.

Traditional Gifts and Entertainment

Adding to the festive spirit, Emirates will provide traditional red envelopes containing chocolate coins on select flights. These envelopes, a symbol of good fortune and prosperity in many Asian cultures, will be presented to passengers in all classes, enhancing the cultural immersion during their journey.

Moreover, Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ICE, will feature an extended selection of films and music to celebrate the occasion. Travelers can choose from 22 Mandarin and 13 Cantonese movies, along with over 350 Hollywood films subtitled in Chinese. The music library includes more than 115 Chinese albums, ensuring a rich and varied entertainment experience.

Luxurious Lounge Menus

Emirates lounges in Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, and other locations will also participate in the celebrations with special menus. In Dubai’s first and business class lounges, breakfast will include Cheung Fun, a traditional steamed rice noodle roll stuffed with dried prawns and scallops. For lunch and dinner, offerings will range from Soya Glazed Beef Short Ribs to Pan-Seared Chilean Seabass with XO sauce.

The dessert selection will be particularly enticing with options like Strawberry Lychee Cake, Black Sesame Cake, and a Yuzu Tartlet sprinkled with green tea powder. A unique addition will be the homemade Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream, available for a limited time.

In other East Asian lounges, the menu will feature dishes such as Chicken Soup with Goji Berry, Assorted Dim Sum, and a Sweet and Sour Kung Pao Prawn dish. Desserts will include an Orange Mousse Cake and Eight Treasure Rice, providing a sweet end to the meal.
