Strategic Partnership Between Fokker Services Asia and Embraer
Fokker Services Asia, a prominent subsidiary of Fokker Services Group, has recently entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Embraer, a leading global aerospace company. This pivotal agreement sets the stage for Fokker Services Asia’s facility, located in the strategic Seletar Aerospace Park in Singapore, to become an Authorized Service Center for Embraer’s first-generation E-Jets family. This development marks a significant milestone in supporting the expanding presence of Embraer in the fast-growing Asia Pacific aviation market.
Path to Certification and Enhanced MRO Services
Under this MoU, both parties have laid the groundwork for the certification of Fokker Services Asia as an Authorized Service Center for Embraer. The definitive agreement, expected to be finalized in the first half of 2024, will enable Fokker Services Asia to officially conduct maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services on Embraer’s E-Jets first-generation family. This authorization follows closely on the heels of Fokker Services Asia receiving certification from CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) in Australia in August 2023, allowing it to service E190 aircraft with Australian registration. This series of certifications underscores Fokker Services Asia’s commitment to expanding its MRO capabilities and services in the region.
Commitment to Excellence and Customer Satisfaction
Frank Stevens, Vice President MRO Services at Embraer Services and Support, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the importance of expanding Embraer’s MRO footprint in Asia to support its growing customer base in the region. “We are very pleased to partner with Fokker Services Asia to expand our MRO footprint in Asia. It is very important to keep expanding our capacity, capability, and footprint to bring value to our customers,” Stevens remarked. On the other side, Thomas Kennedy, Managing Director of Fokker Services Asia, shared his satisfaction with the MoU, emphasizing the significance of becoming an authorized service center. “As an authorized service center and having certifications from key aviation regulatory entities in the region, we take pride in formally establishing a full new line of work for comprehensive aircraft maintenance for Embraer aircraft,” Kennedy stated. This partnership not only strengthens Fokker Services Asia’s service offerings but also reinforces its commitment to delivering excellence and achieving customer satisfaction.
