Introduction to Vueling’s Expansion

Vueling, a prominent European low-cost carrier, has announced a significant expansion of its services, marking a notable milestone in its history. For the first time, the airline will commence operations from London-Heathrow Airport (LHR), one of the world’s leading aviation hubs. This strategic move involves the introduction of new routes to Barcelona (BCN) in Spain and Paris-Orly (ORY) in France, starting from April 7, 2024. The decision to operate from Heathrow represents a significant enhancement of Vueling’s service portfolio, extending its operations beyond its established base at London Gatwick. Vueling’s new service to Barcelona will see the airline operating two flights per day, seven days per week, to Barcelona-El Prat Airport. This development not only increases the frequency of flights to Barcelona but also complements Vueling’s existing service from London-Gatwick, where it already operates eight flights per day to the same destination. The introduction of flights from Heathrow to Paris Orly Airport is particularly noteworthy, as it represents an entirely new route for Vueling, enhancing its footprint in the French market. Flights to Paris will run once daily, seven days per week, providing a unique and direct link that was previously unavailable from Heathrow, thereby filling a critical gap in the market.
